Minority languages around the world

Due to my PhD studies, I find myself living abroad in Miami, Florida, where no one speaks Basque. When Latin Americans who know about my nation recognize me, they ask me, "What is a Basque girl doing in Miami?", and the reality is that I am as confused as they are!

Fortunately, both my best friend from the program and my advisor are Basque. Thus I don't always feel so "linguistically alone." ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

In Miami, there are 128 different languages spoken at home. 60% of the population have Spanish as their home language, and 4% Haitian Creole. Even though they are not short in numbers, they are also considered minority languages in the USA, along with the native ones. ๐ŸŒŽ

⁉️Do you know any minority language that is spoken in your region or country??

✨In the Basque Country, we have a significant
population of Tamazight speakers and a little less of Quechua, Tagalog, and other prominent languages such as Dariya ("Arab") and Chinese languages. ๐Ÿ—บ️
